Admissions 2023

1) DP1 applicants (year 11)

We have sent email admission to all our DP1 applicants on May 31. If you have not received email from us, we many not have your correct email address? Please check by sending email to maarit.berg@vantaa.fi.

2) Pre-DP applicants (year 10)

On June 15, we will publish the name list at the end of this message. The information is also available at Opintopolku if you log in with a strong identification.

Remember to accept the offer you receive at Opintopolku. If you do not confirm your place in Opintopolku, you will lose it. You can only accept one place - if you do not accept the place you have been offered, you can't be admitted to any of your other choices.

Please come to the school on Thursday 15 June between 10-18 or on Monday 19 June at 14-18. You will receive information on your preDP studies (the first year of upper secondary school) and make language choices. You also get to meet your study counselor and tutors.

3) New applicants

If you have moved to Finland after March 2023, you can still apply to pre-DP and DP1 even though we don't have any places at the moment. We will arrange a second entrance exam for those residing in Finland on Fri, Aug 18 at 13-15. Please note that we only test those who have filled out our application form. You should bring your latest school report, too.

CANCELLATION AND WAITING LIST

 If you have been admitted to Tikkurila IB, accept the offer at Studyinfo (Opintopolku.fi) by 29 June 2023.

 If you applied to Tikkurilan lukio IB but were not admitted 

If you have not been admitted to Tikkurila IB but you have been admitted by another school, accept the offer at Studyinfo (Opintopolku.fi) by 29 June 2023. Start your studies in the school you have been admitted to.

The waiting list at Studyinfo (Opintopolku.fi) works automatically. Waitlisted applicants will receive an email if they are admitted off the waiting list. You must accept the offer of the study place according to the instructions in the email. 

The waiting list is valid until Friday 18 August, 2023.  

NB! If you have applied with a foreign certificate, there is no waiting list.  

You can enquire about openings in Tikkurilan lukio IB after 18 August. 

Cancellation 

You are only offered one study place through Studyinfo (Opintopolku.fi). If you cancel your study place, you will not be admitted by other schools you applied to. It only means you will not have a place at all.  

If wish not to accept your place in Tikkurilan lukio IB 

1.  Make sure you will be admitted to another school (contact the principal) 

2.  After making sure you will be admitted elsewhere, cancel your place at Tikkurilan lukio IB at Studyinfo (Opintopolku.fi) by 29 June 2023 

If you cancel your place after having accepted it at Studyinfo 

1.  Make sure you will be admitted to another school (contact the principal) 

2.  After making sure you will be admitted elsewhere, send a message about the cancellation to the Tikkurilan lukio office to siiri.rantasuo@vantaa.fi and m.sydanmaanlakka@vantaa.fi. (At Studyinfo you can’t cancel the position once you have accepted.)
